Team DAF - Nike Melbourne Marathon

From the first step to the final sprint into the MCG, Team DAF showed up big time at this year’s Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival, with runners repping the Dylan Alcott Foundation across every distance.

Our crew ran, walked, rolled and raised funds to help young Australians with disability smash their goals — and together, we raised over $90,000. Every dollar will go straight toward creating more opportunities in education, sport, employment, the arts and beyond for young people with disability.

Massive love to our unreal partners — Nike, Grill’d, CeraVe, Seoul Tonic, Lite n’ Easy, Wallaby Water, Freddy’s, and Drink Bobby — for backing the cause and making the weekend one to remember.

And to every single legend who donated, cheered from the sidelines, or joined Team DAF on the course — thank you. You helped open doors, shift perceptions and move us one step closer to a more inclusive Australia where every young person with disability can thrive.

The Dylan Alcott Foundation is proud to partner with the Australian Open (AO) to create and drive 'All Abilities Day'. The day aims to promote accessibility and inclusion in sport by providing opportunities for people of all abilities to attend the AO and participate in tennis-related activities. This event typically features adaptive tennis clinics, wheelchair tennis matches and various interactive experiences tailored to individuals with disability, showcasing the diversity and universality of tennis as a sport.

A Journey of Discovery

"We went to Zambia to listen and to learn and to amplify the voices of people with disability that live there, as they deserve to have their lived experiences heard. They know what they need - but they need people to listen, and to have a crack at doing better." - Dylan

This partnership with World Vision, aims to shed light on the challenges faced by individuals living with disability in some of the world's most vulnerable communities.

"Road to Kasama" follows Dylan Alcott AO as he embarks on a transformative journey to Kasama, Zambia, exploring the daily lives, struggles, and triumphs of people with disability. The documentary highlights the importance of inclusion and accessibility, emphasising that every individual, regardless of ability, deserves equal opportunities.

We at the Dylan Alcott Foundation are thrilled to have been a part of this journey allowing us to come together to listen, learn, and witness firsthand the support needed for young people living with disability worldwide. We look forward to continuing to challenge perceptions and unconscious bias all around the world.

We’re pumped to announce the wrap on a fantastic partnership with Coles Group and Bonds throughout the month of May. Together, we’re on a mission to empower young individuals living with disability, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support of our partners and the community.

If you hadn’t already noticed at your local Coles, from May 1st, $2 from designated Bonds products purchased at selected stores was donated to the Dylan Alcott Foundation, raising a massive $100,000!

We’re incredibly fortunate to have been a part of this initiative and have been overwhelmed with the positive response from local communities, helping us make a continued impact on the lives of the nearly 1 million young Australians with disability.

Funds raised will allow us to continue our movement of working toward a more inclusive and accessible world; providing support, resources, and opportunities to young people with disability so they can continue to lead the lives they deserve.

In just 50 days, Pat Abrey undertook a monumental challenge, covering 2,100 kilometers and raising over $26,000 for the Dylan Alcott Foundation.

His ambitious goal? Completing 50 marathons in 50 days, all in support of empowering young Australians with disability. Inspired by the foundation's mission to eliminate barriers, Pat's unwavering commitment, coupled with the generosity of donors, brought tangible change.

Despite facing various obstacles, including weather and work commitments, Pat's resilience triumphed. Together, these collective efforts will ensure equal opportunities for young Australians with disability.

Pat, you legend - thank you for your dedication to creating such an impact which we are deeply appreciative of.

Big love to our partners Ashurst for hosting “An Evening for Change”, curating a night of powerful conversations around the importance of accessibility and inclusion in the workplace.

Dylan Alcott AO, and other esteemed panellist delved into actionable strategies for organisations to attract and retain individuals living with disability, emphasising the imperative of fostering inclusive workplaces through ongoing dialogue and proactive initiatives. It was truly an honour to contribute to such a transformative evening.

We were fortunate to have two foundation recipients performing on the night which resulted in Ashurst raising over $27,000 for the Dylan Alcott Foundation. Funds go directly toward supporting young Australians with disability to achieve their dreams and we couldn't be more grateful for the support.

two business & Economics scholarships to launch in 2024

What an incredible evening at the National Gallery of Victoria during the Faculty of Business and Economics Foundation Dinner, where we proudly announced our partnership with the University of Melbourne.

Our founder, Dylan Alcott AO, revealed two scholarship opportunities for students with disability to pursue studies in business and commerce at the University of Melbourne, in an interview with fellow alum, Lord Mayor, Sally Capp AO.

“I think it’s a pretty beautiful 360; the University of Melbourne took a chance on me and gave me an opportunity so I could be the person that I want to be and now to be able to come back and, and [create this scholarship] together, is pretty cool.”
